It is not only those that are of the cult persuasion that enjoy heavy metal music. There are plenty of Christian and other non religious bands that play heavy metal music. Their lyrics are not of the dodgy kind. They sing about war and love and the state of the world as a form of protest instead.

It is true that a lot of the underground bands that floated around when heavy metal first came into being were affiliated or at least claimed to be affiliated to the various satanic cults. There are still a lot of heavy metal bands out there that continue to follow this form of music. The fact remains that they are far and away not the majority.

The vast majority of your heavy metal bands are of the non religious variety and stick to lyrics about love and war and politics. They protest about their treatment at the hands of others and basically just vent all of their frustrations through their music.

If you really want to see what kind of people listen to heavy metal music then you need to investigate the various clubs in your area. You will most likely find that the clubs which play the more popular rave and house music see more fights than the clubs which play heavy metal. For some reason rave seems to increase the levels of aggression while metal gives the music lovers a different outlet for any anger they feel.

Do not assume that just because the music is not the typical thing played on the radio that it is evil and satan worship. There are many Christian heavy metal bands around who play music designed to bring people to the Lord. Never judge a book by its cover until you have had a look at what it actually contains.
